He said to be still that I might know Him,

But finding the time is often hard, and

So many times, I feel as if my life is scarred,

And I’m not worthy to sit in His presence.

He said to be still that I might know Him,

Would recognize His voice when He calls, but

All too often, I’m hurting from a fall,

But I guess that’s when I need Him the most.

You know, I’m tired of the shame and pain;

I’m tired of feeling lost and alone, so

To get rid of this angry heart of stone,

I will be still and get to know my God.
